Ukrainian President Poroshenkova warns Russia is preparing for a major war against the West
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said that Russia is preparing for a major war in Eastern Europe through organizing military exercises. Poroshenko warned in a speech in the Ukrainian parliament.
One-time business tycoon Poroshenko said after the massive protests in Ukraine in 2013, it is clear through the planned exercise that Russia has no intention of handing over Crimea occupied by Ukraine. In the speech given in parliament, Poroshenko said, "At the moment Moscow has not shown any signs of retreating or leaving Crimea from a region of Ukraine". Portoshenko also said that a part of Russia's army could hit Ukraine's territory in the disguise of strategic drills.
Russia's military exercise will be held this week in Belarus's neighboring country Belarus. It is estimated that one hundred thousand Russian soldiers will take part. Georgia and Lithuania, a Soviet Union based state like Ukraine, expressed concerns about the military exercise. Former President of Georgia, Michael Sackashvili, said that through this military exercise, a path to the Russian army could be made in Belarus.
