The name of the birth of elephant freedom fighter 'Bani Madhuri' has
been kept for the first time in the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Safari Park
in Gazipur.
Wildlife supervisor of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Safari Park said. Anisur Rahman said, Secretary of the Ministry of Environment and Forests, Isaiyak Ahmed visited the Safari Park on Friday noon. He visited different places of the park. Later he went to Hathasala. They saw the recently born elephant breed. Later, he named him 'Banu Madhuri'.
During the visit, he was present along with the forest conservator (Wildlife) Jahidul Kabir, Dhaka Divisional Forest Officer (Wildlife). Zahir Uddin Akon, Project Director of Safari Park Shamsul Azam, among others.
On August 27, elephant breed was born in a closed environment in Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Safari Park. Which is the first time in Bangladesh.
It is learned that in 2013, 6 wild elephants from different parts of the country were brought to Safari Park. Of these, two men and four females.
