A California woman convicted of driving drunk and killing her sister in a car crash she live-streamed on social media was sentenced to more than six years in prison. Obdulia Sanchez, 19, was sentenced Thursday after being convicted of vehicular manslaughter and DUI for the crash that killed 14-year-old Jacqueline Sanchez last July. কয়দিন আগে বেশ অসুস্থ ছিলাম। মটকা মেরে বিছানায় পরে থাকলে নানান হাবিজাবি চিন্তা ঘুরে মাথায়… চোখ ঘুমায়, ব্রেন জেগে থাকে ... এমন একদিন জামাইরে বললাম, “শুনো, বেশী দিন বাচঁবো বলে মনে হয়না, তুমি মেয়ে দেখো…” সে অবাক হয়ে জিজ্ঞেস করলো, “কিসের মেয়ে???” আমি বললাম, “আমি মারা গেলে বিয়ে তো করবাই, নাকি… কাকে না কাকে নিয়ে আসবা, যার তার কাছে তো তোমাকে রেখে যেতে পারিনা, তারচেয়ে দেখে শুনে ঠিক করে দিয়ে যাই।” জামাই অবাক হয়ে বললো, “ রিকমেন্ডেশন লেটার দিবা নাকি???” আমি বললাম, “ধরো সে রকমই…” কথাবার্তার এই পর্যায়ে আমাদের কন্যার আগমন… এসেই দুজনের মাঝখানে গুটিশুটি মেরে শুয়ে পরলো... হঠাত বিঘ্ন ঘটায়, আলাপচারিতার এখানেই সমাপ্তি… কিছুদিন পর এক বিয়েতে গেছি, আমরা বরপক্ষ, ছেলের এটা দ্বিতীয় বিয়ে, প্রথম বউ এর সাথে ডিভোর্স হয়ে গেছে। আমি এম্নিতেই জিজ্ঞেস করলাম, “মেয়েরও কি দ্বিতীয় বিয়ে?” আমার জামাই বললো, “মনে হয় না…” আমি বললাম, “কেন, এতো কনফার্ম হচ্ছো কিভাবে?” ও বললো, “একই স্ট্যাটাস এর কাউকে খুজে বের করা তো কঠিন কাজ, তারচেয়ে অবিবাহিত কাউকে বিয়ে করে ফেলাই তো সহজ… ধরো আমি যদি বিয়ে করি, তাহলে তো অবিবাহিত কাউকেই বিয়ে করবো, হা...

-শিতের ভিতর একা ঘুমাইতে পারমু না।এমনিতেই শিত,তারউপরে কলেজ ছুটি।একা থাকা যায় বল।তাই বিয়া করাইয়া দাও -হারামজাদা এই দিকে আয়,তোরে বিয়া করাইতেছি কে যায় কার কাছে।এক দৌড়ে রুমে এসে দরজা লাগাইয়া দিলাম।ও হ্যা,আমি <জয়>।যদিও আম্মু বাদে সবাই আমাকে অর্ক বলেই ডাকে।যাইহোক আমি ইন্টার সেকেন্ড ইয়ারে পড়ি।বাবা মায়ের প্রথম সন্তান।আমার ছোট একটা বেন আছে।মিম। ।আমার কোন abcd নাই।মানে কোন গার্লফ্রেন্ড নাই।ভাবছেন,এত বড় ছেলে গার্লফেন্ড নাই।নিশ্চই পড়াশোনায় ভালো,নাহলে দেখতে ক্ষ্যাত।আমি দুইটার কোনটাই না।দেখতে মাশাল্লাহ কিন্তু পড়াশোনায় পুড়া ফাকিবাজ।এই যে,পড়াশুনা রেখে গল্প লিখতেছি।আমার জুনিয়র ভাইয়াও প্রেম করে।কিন্তু আমি!!কপাল,আজ পর্যন্ত একটা প্রেম করতে পারলাম না।যাইহোক এইবার মূল গল্পে আসি। সকাল সকাল আম্মুর সাথে ফাজলামি করে এসে ঘুম দিলাম।এক ঘুমে দুপুর।ঘুম থেকে উঠে গোসল,খাওয়া দাওয়া করে আবার ঘুম দিলাম।ঘুম ভাঙল ছোটবোনের ডাকে। -ভাইয়া,এই ভাইয়া।তাড়াতাড়ি উঠে রেডি হয়ে নে??? -ওই আম্মুরে গিয়া বল,আমি বাজারে যাইতে পারব না.... -বাজারে যাওয়া লাগবে না। -তাইলে কানের ধারে আইসা ঘ্যানঘ্যান করছ ক্যান?কি হইছে?? -তুই নাকি কি বিয়া কর...

মেয়েটি লোকটিকে জিজ্ঞেস করলো' ডিম কত করে বিক্রি করছেন? বৃদ্ধ বিক্রেতা বললো' ম্যাডাম পাঁচ টাকা করে প্রতিটি। মেয়েটি বললো, আমি ৬টি ২৫ টাকা দেব, না হয় চলে যাবো! বৃদ্ধ বিক্রেতা উত্তর দিলো, আসেন ম্যাডাম নিয়ে যান আপনার দামে। হয়তো এটাই হবে আমার প্রথম শুধু কারন সারা দিন একটিও বিক্রি করতে পারিনি এখনো! মেয়েটি ডিম কিনে জিতে গেছে ভেবে চলে গেল। তারপর মেয়েটি তার দামী গাড়ীতে চড়ে তার বন্ধুর সাথে অভিজাত রেস্তোরাতে গেলো। সেখানে, সে আর তার বন্ধু তাদের পছন্দসই অনেককিছু অর্ডার করলো। কিন্তু তারা যা অর্ডার দিলো তার স্বল্প খেলো আর বেশিরভাগ রেখে দিলো। তারপর সে বিল দিতে গেল।বিল আসলো ১৪০০টাকা। সে দিলো ১৫০০টাকা এবং রেস্তোরা মালিককে বললো বাকিটা রেখে দিতে। এ ব্যাপারটা রেস্তোরা মালিকের কাছে খুবই স্বাভাবিক হতে পারে কিন্তু দরিদ্র ডিম বিক্রেতার কাছে খুবই বেদনাময়। ইস্যু টা হচ্ছে, আমরা যখন হত দরিদ্র মানুষদের কাছ থেকে কিছু কিনি, কেন আমরা দেখায় আমাদের ক্ষমতা কত? এবং তাদের কাছে কেন এতো উদার হই যাদের ঐ বদান্যতা মুঠেও প্রয়োজন নেই? আমি একটা কোথায় পড়েছি: আমার বাবা দরিদ্র মানুষদের কাছ থেকে সাধারণ জিনিসপত্র কিনতেন চড়া দা...

কবিতায় আর কী লিখবো? রাখইনে মুসলিম কষ্টের কথা, নির্যাতনের বিভীষিকা, পশুর হিংস্রতা, লিখার প্রতিটি শব্দের চেয়ে অনেক বেশি ওদের নির্মমতা। ওদের নিষ্ঠুরতার কাছে হার মেনেছে পশু, ঐ পশুত্ব থেকে বাঁচতে পারেনি সদ‍্যোজাত শিশু ও। ওদের হিংস্রতায় খোদার আরশ কাঁপে মায়ের সামনেই নিস্পাপ, শিশুদের হত‍্যা করছে, গলা টিপে টিপে। গর্ভবতী মায়ের গর্ভপাত হচ্ছে পশুদের পায়ের আঘাতে, এ হিংস্রতা চলছে শুধু, মা ও শিশুকে মারতে। কবিতায় কি আর বলবো? দুঃখের ঐ বাস্তবতা কিভাবে তুলে ধরবো? বৃদ্ধের ঐ কষ্টের কথা কোথা থেকে যে বলি, চোখের সামনেই চার ছেলেকে করলো ওরা গুলি ঘরগুলি দিলো ওরা আগুনে পুড়িয়ে, ছোট দুটো নাতিকে দিলো সেথায় ফেলিয়ে, নিঃস্ব আমি, ফকির হলাম সবকিছু যে হারিয়ে। ঘরের মহিলাদের ইজ্জত হনন করে, জ‍্যান্ত পশুর মতো কুপিয়ে কুপিয়ে মেরে, মৃতদেহের হাত-পা কেটে চিড়ে, অবশেষে ওদের পোষা কুকুরদের দিলো বিলিয়ে। কবিতায় কী আর তূলে ধরবো? এর চেয়ে বাস্তব, ঐ হায়ানাদের কঠোরতা। লেখনি থেমে যায়, লিখতে গিয়ে মর্মব‍্যথা। ওদের ঝরে যাওয়া প্রতিটি রক্ত ফোঁটা যেনো এক-একটি বেদনা, বিধুর কবিতা। এক-একটি পরিবারের নির্যাতনের নির্মম কাহিনী তব‍্য, এ যেনো মহাশ্মশান, ...
